Where has the time gone...
In September we moved from our crappy 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment that was 4 ft underground to our amazing 3 bedroom 2.5 bath town home. It is about 400 more square feet and comes with a one car garage!!! It was one of the best decision we could have made for our family per say to move and get out of the hell hole, but financially it was not all that smart since we had to pay 3 months of rent in one month instead of just 1 month of rent. We finally got caught up and back on our feet like we wanted to be but it was a long tiring battle and there were days I swore we were going to go without the necessities because we just couldn't afford them. Thankfully we got it all taken care of before it was baby time.
Abbie became fully potty trained that month and has only had 3 accidents since then. She wore pull ups for about 3 days and was done. I am so thankful that we have had the last 6 months of no diapers and that we will NOT have 2 in diapers at the same time!! :)
(I also met some not so good people this month but very quickly got them out of my life. Did NOT want a repeat of the past)
October was a good month for us. We got fully settled into our house, spent a lot of time together as a family since the ship was still in dry dock there were no under ways just duty days. We took Abbie to a pumpkin patch, and to a corn maze. She loved it and even learned how to pee outside since we were stuck in the middle of the corn field and couldn't find a way out to find a bathroom so she went outside. Very interesting and rather funny but definitely not something we ever want to make a habit of lol. She loved the Halloween season especially all the candy and making cupcakes with me and finding out on the 28th of October she was going to be a big sister to a little baby brother. It was a very exciting day for all of us. Later that week we carved our pumpkins (They turned out great!!!) and went trick or treating and she finally at about the 5th to last house said trick or treat. She was Alice in Wonderland and looked adorable.
November was a fun month as well. The ship was out of dry dock and finally back in Everett so Jack didn't have to drive so far or take the bus to Seattle for work!! Definitely helped with gas. Not a whole lot really happened until about 4 days before Thanksgiving. Washington has their 1st snow fall and boy was there a lot. It was gorgeous. Abbie and I sat staring out the window for about 2 hours before she fell asleep right there just watching. It snowed again on Thanksgiving and was completely gone and melted away by the next day :(. On Thanksgiving I cooked my first Thanksgiving dinner for Jack, Abbie, and 4 guys off the ship plus myself. We had Turkey, Dressing, Potatoes, Gravy, Rolls, Green Bean Casserole, Yams, Pumpkin and Cherry Pie. It was amazing and I was so proud of myself!! My 1st 15lb Turkey was AMAZING :)
December oh how I love this month. SOOO much to do so little time and I get a year older... Oh well Santa was very good to Abbie this year and I was very thankful we were able to make her last "only child" Christmas a great one. Since next year she will have to share Santa with her baby brother Matthew. In December we did a lot of cooking and decorating and singing carols and Christmas light looking. It was just a great month! We did have to celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve because Jack had duty Christmas but it was still a great day and at least we were all together as a family. Last year and next year he will be deployed for Christmas :(. My Birthday was amazing as well. My Great Grandpa used to make me a Chocolate Cake with White Frosting and red hots saying Happy Birthday. Well he passed away on December 20,2007 and I have not had a cake like that since. The night before my birthday I told Jack that was one of the biggest things I missed on my B-day. So that night after I went to sleep he went to the store and bought the stuff to make that cake. I guess he messed up the first one and had to make another but it was so amazing and the best birthday gift I could have gotten. I made Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo for dinner and we drank sparkling cider as our wine!! We rang in the New Year 3 times that night. Once for the East Coast since we used to live there, Once for the Central Time because that is where we are both from, and then once again for our Pacific time. It was a great Birthday and a great way to bring in the New Year.
January 2011... WOW I am now 23 years old, been married for almost 4 years, have an amazing 2 1/2 year old daughter and expecting my handsome little man in only 2 short months. Where did the time go. I remember turning 12 and thinking Y2K was going to wipe us all out. Not a whole lot really happened in January. We filled our taxes and finally bought the rest of the baby stuff we needed but other than that nothing to exciting. Only 8 short weeks til I meet Matthew Dominic for the very first time!!!
February this month has been both good and bad for us. Jack and I finally got to spend our 1st Valentines Day together EVER in the 5 that we have had this was our 1st. We didn't do the traditional dinner and a movie. Nope instead we took Abbie to Chuck E Cheese and OMG did she love it. It was such a great idea and we had an amazing night. The next 5 days would become very hard for us. Our 7month old Cat Carmen had stopped eating and was getting sick. Not hair ball sick but real cat vomit. She was still acting the same and pooping and peeing just not eating. I decided to wait til Monday morning if she still wasn't eating by then I was going to take her to the vet. Well Saturday morning we woke up and she was not doing well at all. She wasn't moving and hardly breathing. We rushed her to the vet but .45 miles away she passed away in my arms. It was the saddest thing. We still went to the vet to make sure and they said she either had distemper or cancer. If she had cancer there would have been nothing we could have done for her because we can't afford kimo for an animal. They offered to take care of her for us or we could go home and bury her ourselves. We decided to do it ourselves. I had to take Abbie out of the room because I didn't want her to know the kitty had died and was being put in a box. It was very sad and I went on a full blown cleaning spree once we got home. Only thing that kept me from crying. Thankfully Jack was home and didn't have to leave to go underway til Monday. On another animal note... 2 days before our poor Carmen left us we rescued an abandoned puppy that was living in her own poop and pee and had a bag of food just poured on the floor for her to eat. It was a very sad situation and at first I did not want another animal but I couldn't just leave this poor dog to live like that. She is part Pug part Chihuahua. She is black with one white line down her belly. She was a blessing in disguise for Abbie. Instead of her being focused on where Carmen went she has been more focused on helping with the new puppy who we named Trixie. She is a great puppy and doing pretty good on potty training. We took her to the vet for her shots and de wormer and they said she was about 8 months old and very healthy. That was great news after what we just went through. I had a Dr's apt on Thursday and they said I was 1.5 cm dilated and 50% thinning. Hopefully that means not much longer til Mr. Matthew makes his debut. Jack has been gone for a week now and wont be back for a little while longer and I am just ready to have him home and to have my water break. I want to meet my lil man and for Jack to spend as much time with him before he has to leave for a while with the ship. All in all February has had lots of ups and downs but we made it out alive and that is all that matters. Looking forward to March and the many many months to come. I will try my hardest to blog more but IDK how often that will happen once I have 2 little ones to take care of.
Until next time we are just "taking things one day at a time."

24 August 2010
6 months later and I decided to blog again!
Now 6 great months later I am living in Washington, Jack has come home from a deployment and then 2 months of schooling, Abbie is now 25 1/2 months old, I AM prego, we already had our wedding and it was wonderful, and I haven't seen my family in over a month!!
So a little update.
February and March is all pretty much a blur since it was so long ago and nothing was really going on.
April was a whole different story though. Lets see at the beginning of April I had my bridal shower on the Saturday before Easter and then my whole family celebrated Easter together that Sunday. The next weekend was my 3 year anniversary, I spent it alone since Jack was still deployed at this point. I flew to FL on the 14Th and spent some time with my friend Lelia and her amazing daughter Alyssa. We went to the candlelight vigil that night and then went back to her house to await our sailors return the next day. April 15Th the day I had waited for, for 6 months and 10 days. It was an amazing day. I got my sailor and Abbie got her daddy back!! The only good part about any deployment the homecoming!!! We said goodbye to our friends got everything we needed and headed to Illinois that night. We stopped at a hotel about 6 hours outside of FL. We woke up the next morning and hit the road again. We got back to IL on Friday the 16th sometime in the afternoon.
April 17th- My bachelorette and Jacks bachelor party. Since Jack's family wasn't able to make it to IL the week before the wedding my family gave him a bachelor party. Thankfully they went out to my Uncle's Cabin and just got really drunk NO strippers!! I had my bachelorette party at my Aunt's house and it was MUCH better than going to the bars since I had to take 12 shots due to a game we played and I got the answers wrong. That would have been a very expensive bar tab lol. All in all it was a great night and I know I enjoyed myself and of the pictures I saw Jack enjoyed himself too.
1 week til the wedding day and everything was pretty much taken care of the girls all had their dresses and the guys were all fitted. So Friday comes along we have our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner we finish decorating the hall and then I go to my Aunts house to stay the night so Jack and we don't see each other til I walk down the isle. YES we are already married but I was doing this as traditional as possible. The wedding was amazing, we had a great time at the reception everyone had a great time and it was so nice to know that we finally after 3 years 3 deployments and already having 1 child were able to have our dream wedding.
Well not much really happened after that we spent 3 days in Chicago and then heading back to FL for 1 day so Jack could get the rest of his stuff before heading to VA for a 2 month school. I hated it because he was just gone for over 6 months and then he had to be gone for another 2 months.
Now we are into May... Good Ole May. Not much really happened. I spent a week in VA with Jack and Abbie. We stayed at my friend Chelsea and Zakk's house. Zakk was underway while we were there but I was able to see him on Friday the 7th when he got home and before Jack, Abbie and I left their house to get a hotel since Abbie and I were leaving the next day to be home with family for Mothers Day. Well lets just say I wish we wouldn't have gotten that hotel room because I woke up to a very very sad and life changing text. My friend Zakk had been killed in a motorcycle accident. Words can't express how I felt that day. Zakk left behind his wife and their 16month old son. He was only 20 years old and had his whole life ahead of him. I did not take the death well at all, I had nightmares for a while and even dreams where he came back and tried to tell me about life after death but I always woke up before I got an answer... Go figure lol. I was not able to make his funeral since it was in VA and I had already bought my plane ticket to go back down there for Memorial Day weekend. His death to this day still gets to me but I know he is in heaven watching down on all those that he loved and cared about. He was a great man and is missed dearly. RIP Zakk Metzner 11/8/89-5/7/10 Gone but NOT forgotten.
May did not start our good but it did get better later on in the month. I had 2 of my wisdom teeth taken out and made 2 trips to VA. One was planned the other was a spur of the moment I really miss my husband trip. Well it was Memorial Day and it was time for our Honeymoon. We had an amazing trip planned out... ALL did not go as planned though.
Here was the plan. I flew in on Thursday the 27th, we were going to the Statue Of Liberty and Ellis Island on Friday. Get a hotel 60 miles outside of DC that night. Saturday and Sunday go to Washington, DC. Monday go to Bush Gardens and Tuesday I fly home.
Well here is what happened. I got in on Thursday like planned, we went to NY on Friday and did everything planned on Friday SO far so good... Well we are on our way to the hotel (which is a 6 hour drive by the way) well lets just say we never got there. Jack some home hit a curb trying to avoid hitting a car ( I was asleep) and bent the rim of the tire so bad it was almost undriveable. So we find a Pep boys about 15mins down the road and figure we will just get the rim bent back out and get a new tire no problem maybe 2 hours worth of labor and we would be on our way again... WRONG. The tire was not able to be bent back and NOWHERE had the size rim we needed for the car. We were stuck in New Jersey at 5pm... we waited and waited and waited for someone to have a rim and no one did. It was Friday night during Memorial Day weekend. Worst weekend possible to have something go wrong. Well since the rim was so bad and undriveable we had no vehicle and no hotel so we decide to go for a walk and try to find a hotel at 9pm... we finally found one 2 miles away from Pep boys but they are all booked so we ask where the next one might be and then send us 2 blocks away from Pep boys... Wish we would have known about that one first lol. It was a long night and I was devastated. I just wanted one weekend where it was just Jack and I for everything to go right... NOT going to happen. So Saturday morning still no luck so they finally get the rim to where it will drive but not for long. Just long enough to find somewhere else that might be able to fix the tire. So we drive about 20mins and need gas so we stop and ask if there were any junk yards around. We are desperate at this point. Luckily there was and they had a rim... So 200 dollars later we have a new tire a new rim and an oil change YAY us. I was so upset I just wanted to go back to the barracks and not even go to DC but Jack convinced me to go and I am glad we did. I wish we would have spent both days there like we planned but I saw almost everything I wanted to in the amount of time we were there. We made it to Bush Gardens on Sunday and had a great time. Monday we went Go-karting and just spent the day hanging out together. It was a nice honeymoon despite the little mishaps here and there. That was May for me... DEF not boring lol.
June... what can I remember about June. Not much really other than I had my other 2 wisdom teeth pulled out and then made another surprise trip to VA but this time I stayed for almost 2 weeks. We were able to spend Fathers Day with Jack which was nice. We hung out with some friends and just waited for Jack to get out of school. Well he had to get out of school earlier then planned because my Step Dad's father had passed away and we needed to get home for the funeral. So he was able to get out of school 5 days early. We left on Thursday and made it home Friday for the wake. The funeral was Saturday.
We had our family reunion Sunday which was a great time. It was the 1st time Jack had ever gone to one so it was nice. The rest of June was pretty much just spending time with the family hanging out enjoying everyday.
July oh July were you a busy month. Well the 1st was Abbie's 2nd Birthday and it was such a great day. Daddy had to go help my Step Dad for a little bit so it was Mommy and Abbie all day. We hung out spent time together, I did her hair we baked a bunch of little cakes, and then got ready to go to Chuck E. Cheese's we had a great time. It was Mommy, Daddy, Abbie, Alex, Lily, Aunt Cheryl, and Grandma Pat. We played games ate some pizza and cupcakes and opened presents. Abbie loved all her nice presents and had a blast. It was such a great day for her. The weekend was fun we went to my Uncle's Cabin with my Grandma on Saturday and then out to my Mom's on Sunday for the 4th. We went out on their boat and watch the fireworks on the water. It was a great Holiday for all of us. That Monday Jack and I had to leave to get to FL so we could get all of our stuff from storage packed and loaded with the movers to get us ready for WA. We got there on the 6th took care of some stuff and then met up with Jack's Dad and Step Mom who were in FL for a job (truck driver). So we spent the night with them and had a great time. We met with the movers the next day got all of that taken care of and then went back to the hotel room and just relaxed and spent some time together. Thursday we had some stuff to do at PSD, the bank, and the post office so we did all that and then went to Lelia's house that night for dinner. It was a very nice time and a great meal. We said our sad goodbye's and were headed back to the hotel. We packed the car and went to bed. Got up the next morning and headed for IL. YES we traveled A LOT over the last 6 months lol. So we make it to Illinois and it is time for Abbie's birthday party on Saturday the 10th. Our whole family is there the kids are there and it was an amazing time and just the party we needed before the move so far away. The week went by pretty fast which was very sad for me. I had lunch with my Aunt that Tuesday and now anytime I go to Olive Garden I cry lol. Thanks Aunt Cheryl. I spent a lot of time at my moms which was really nice and Abbie got to spend a lot of time with them which I know they all loved. Friday came along and it was time to go... It was a very sad and hard day for me... I am a family person and would give anything for my family. I hate that we are so far away but sometimes you must spread your wings and make a life of your own. I will be going home next July and can not wait. The drive up here was not to bad at all. We left Friday at 3pm and got to WA by Sunday at 8:30pm. We even stopped and did some sightseeing along the way.
We moved into our apt on the 19th and found out were expecting our 2nd baby on the 20th. I knew something was wrong when I couldn't eat Chinese food and my pants felt a little tighter than normal. We were going to wait til we had a doctors apt to tell anyone about the pregnancy but we decided to share our great news and tell the world on Friday!!! The rest of July was mainly just unpacking and settling in.
August has been pretty boring as well... Nothing really exciting yet. Jack had his 23rd Birthday on the 17th... he is getting old lol. I'm right behind him though. I will be 9 weeks pregnant tomorrow and just found out that my first apt wont be until September 13th at 1pm. I will be 11.5 weeks. To me that is INSANE. I guess I cant complain. My friend Rachael made a good point at least the sonogram will show a baby and not a sea monkey! :)
Well that is the last 6months wrapped up into a nut shell. I'm sure more happened but most people will make it to the end of April and stop reading. That is okay with me. I just felt like finally blogging since it had been way over due.
Until next time, I'm just "Taking things one day at a time".
19 February 2010
It has been far to long...
I have done a lot of wedding planning and have ALMOST everything ordered or bought or in my house ready for the wedding. I just need to get a few more things and do some last minute details but other than that all is going great with the wedding. Just waiting on packages from online orders. All of my girls have either ordered or picked up their dresses. Both flower girls have their dresses, and I have mine. Now I'm just waiting on all the groomsmen to get their stuff taken care of.
So onto other things... Abbie has been doing pretty good. She has been sick on and off for the last couple of weeks which sucks, but the doctor just gave her a new antibiotic so fingers crossed that it works!! Other than being sick she has been moving around non stop, never slowing down for anything. She is still completely in love with Dora and we cant go anywhere without bringing her Dora Blanket and our car dvd players with her Dora DVD. Then she has to have her daddy doll, sippy and hat. All these things are a must. She can sing along to 4 songs on the Dora DVD and can sing 3 of the main songs on any Dora show. She can count to 3 only because Mommy counts to 3 when she is in trouble lol. She carries her cell phone around all day just talking away without a care of what she is saying. She plays with Diego non stop and likes to feed him snacks every chance she can get. I have a hard time getting her to eat her food sometimes but she is getting better at it. For the most part shes a very independent child with a free spirit and mind of her own. I love watching her grow more and more each day and can't wait to see what she learns next. Being a stay at home mommy is the greatest job in the world. I love it!!!
What has been going on with me... Besides I'm a wedding planning, child raising, shower taking, food eating, car driving, fake baking, movie watching, laundry doing, room cleaning, dog feeding, breathe taking person... I don't really do a lot during the day, I mainly just watch Abbie and Lily all day and then go tanning and watch movies at night with my love bug. I love it so much though. Life is very laid back and easy. I can just do my own thing when I want and how I want. Its very nice. Only down fall is I don't have own house... Living back home with my Grandma has some tiresome moments. I love her to death but I just wish there was more privacy, and peace and quiet. It gets stressful but other than that all is good. I suppose lol.
So this deployment keeps getting longer and longer it seems... I swear one day it seems like its almost over and the next I feel like I have 6 more months to go... I guess it doesn't help when there is fighting and arguments and stress and drama but oh well I guess that is part of deployment life and married life. Its not always going to be 100% perfect but for the most part things have been pretty good. Just missing my hubby more and more everyday.
But enough blogging today, maybe I'll actually have something to talk about tomorrow!!!
Until then I'm just taking things one day at a time.
